Craft Master:
Wang Qiang of Yixing, also known as Shi Shao, Associated Vice President chairing the Zisha Industry Association and a Zisha national senior art craftsman. Born in 1981 to a family of ceramicists, he was admitted to Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, ceramic art and design department of the Master of Fine Arts in 2014. As a new generation of avant-garde Zisha artist born in the 1980s, Wang Qiang redefined the relationship between the traditional and the contemporary and explored experimentally new forms of contemporary Zisha under the old tradition and new prospects, rediscovering Zisha as a traditional craft in line with the dynamism and definition of the modern times.
