Artist Biography

Hobbs is an innovator of generative art, pioneering approaches that seamlessly merge digital and physical realms. Integrating algorithms, plotters, and paint, he balances computational precision with the fluidity of organic forms. The exhibition features Careless and Well-Intentioned #3(2022), which draws inspiration from Piet Mondrian and Bridget Riley through its exploration of grid structures, harmonious color relationships and unexpected areas of conflict. In 2022, Sotheby’s auctioned Careless and Well-Intentioned #1 as part of their Natively Digital 1.3: Generative Art, while in 2023, SFMOMA acquired Careless and Well-Intentioned #4.
