Artist Biography

Merging AI, conceptual art and hacking, Wagenknecht explores the intricate relationship between technology, surveillance and identity. Her work, which includes exhibitions at the Whitney Museum and Centre Pompidou, and collaborations with CERN and Google’s AMI Group,  challenges our understanding of digital permanence and erasure. Two works from her series Neutralized Memories (2023) will be exhibited, these use financial data to transform personal narratives into Rorschach-inspired compositions. Using AI to create structures and assign colours, and incorporating security ink from banknote neutralisation systems, the pieces balance algorithmic precision with human touch, reflecting the fragile, fragmented nature of memory.
