Artist Biography

b.1993
Devon Dejardin was born in Portland in 1993 and achieved a BA in Communication and Religious Studies from Azusa Pacific University in 2016. Artistically self-taught through close studies of painting, history, and spiritual traditions, he has developed a distinctive aesthetic of ‘guardians’: monolithic figures broken down into colourful, 3D-looking shapes resembling children’s toy blocks. Inspired by Old Master portraits and modernist abstraction, he wants these figures to give the viewer protection and reassurance, no matter what they
believe in.

Earlier this year alone, he enjoyed solo exhibitions at Albertz Benda in New York (US, 2024) and Carl Kostyal in Stockholm (SE, 2024). His work has been collected by Space K Museum in Seoul.
